Garbage Disposal Requirements
The Borough does not arrange for the collection of ordinary household trash. There is a Borough Ordinance that regulates the disposal of household trash. An excerpt of the garbage ordinance follows:
SECTION ONE: It shall be unlawful for any person or persons, firm or corporation, owner, tenant, housekeeper and other person occupying any dwelling house or other building or portion thereof in the Borough to retain refuse, garbage, rubbish and burnable refuse on its property for more than a two (2) week period.
SECTION TWO: Within the aforementioned two-week period, each and every owner, tenant, housekeeper, firm or corporation, and other person occupying any dwelling house or other building or portion thereof in the Borough in which refuse, garbage and rubbish material accumulate, shall cause to remove and said refuse, garbage and rubbish material.
SECTION THREE: The removal of refuse, garbage, rubbish and burnable refuse shall be accomplished by placing the same in receptacles. The receptacles shall be so placed, by the owner, tenant, housekeeper, firm or corporation and other person occupying such dwelling house or other building, in the yard where the same may be easily accessible to the collectors.
The Borough does not endorse any garbage haulers. Haulers who service Factoryville are as follows:
