Christy Mathewson Park is located behind the Lackawanna Trail Elementary Center. Please park in the school parking lot and walk across pedestrian bridge into this lovely park. The park features a baseball field, walking trail, basketball court, concession stand, bathroom facilities, and a picnic pavilion.
Improvements to the park have included new bleachers for both home and away spectators, “play pockets,” an additional small walking trail, a pickelball court, and a fresh resurfacing of the basketball court. These projects were made possible from funding from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources.
In the future, we would like to build an outdoor classroom similar to the one we have had in the past.
